Cachasol was built as a place to spend time together as a family, not a place where you park the kids in a corner while the adults have all the fun.
We're a six-acre working farm, 8 minutes from Sayulita and 18 from Punta Mita, with a natural wooden playground, an open lawn, shaded hammocks and an open kitchen. Come for a wholesome afternoon, off the hot sand and out of the sun.
While our farm is expansive, our core experiences are snugly nestled between beautiful landscaping, all within sight and sound of each other.
Kids are welcomed to the farm with a delicious drink. Not the sugary kind out of a can, but an agua fresca made with ingredients from the farm. Usually it's a name and a color they've never tried before. We encourage them to try, and it's usually love at first sip.
As the afternoon unfolds, kids are offered custom-designed coloring sheets and pencils to keep their brains and hands busy. Through the year we often add seasonal activities, such as sugar-skull painting or pumpkin painting around Day of the Dead.
When they need to burn the BIG energy, the playground is nearby. It's hand-built from local guabillo and capomo wood, with plenty of climbing and swinging to keep them busy. When they (or the parents) need a break, there are shaded hammocks a few steps away.
Whether the parents do the Tequila Tasting & Raicilla Distillery Tour or the Tequila Tasting, or you join us for a family dinner, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained.
"They even have a really cool nature playground for kids, which made the experience even more special for our son."

Don't Just Watch. Make Something Together.
If you're looking for a hands-on experience with your kids, look no further than our Culinary & Mixology Workshop. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves adventure that keeps parents and kids engaged with a sense of discovery and wonder. After welcoming you at the bar, we walk the gardens to pick fresh ingredients for the mixology session.
With our non-alcoholic Mocktail ticket, kids ages 6 to 17 learn the tips and tricks of balance and flavor while mixing and shaking their own drinks. With the adult ticket, you learn that a great spirit is the key to a great cocktail, and mix your own for the class.
Next up, everyone moves into the dining room, where you learn the traditional way to make guacamole in the volcanic molcajete bowl, followed by hand-packing and cooking tortillas on the comal. The entire meal is hands-on, messy, and sometimes competitive. A dining experience parents and kids share from start to finish.
"Our son had the best time learning how to make his own jamaica drink, while we got to learn how to make delicious tequila cocktails. We also made fresh guacamole and tortillas, which was such a fun and authentic experience for all of us."
Skip the tour. Reserve lunch or an early dinner, let them run the lawn and the playground while the kitchen cooks, and eat together in the comedor. Quesadillas, guacamole and a kids' lemonade on the menu. The easiest afternoon on this list. Kids 5 and under join every experience free.
The workshop at 2:30 PM is the most hands-on thing we do, and it's built for kids to take part in, not watch. Mocktails at the bar, then the kitchen, then the table. It includes a full meal and you'll be done before dinner time.
Two good options. The workshop breaks teenagers out of their shell, because nobody stays quiet when there's a shaker in their hand. Or the Tequila Tasting & Raicilla Distillery Tour with a youth ticket: teenagers get the whole distillery experience and the story alongside their parents, with the full meal and without the spirits. The youngest can play within eyesight and rejoin at the table.
Non-drinkers and anyone who'd rather skip the tequila join every experience at the non-drinking rate. Nobody has to drink to have a good afternoon here.
Everyone Eats at the Same Table.
Sorry, there is no kids' menu with hot dogs and french fries, and no kids' table. This is a menu and an experience shared by the entire family. Our menu is authentic, traditional dishes served simply in a beautiful setting. For the picky eaters, we adapt: quesadillas from the comal with cheese or chicken, guacamole made in the molcajete, house-made aguas frescas, the Best Kids Lemonade Ever, and ice creams and sorbets to finish. No sugary sodas. Parents get the rest of the menu and a margarita.
The comedor is open-air and small, with a few dozen seats and the playground in view. Reservations are required for the restaurant; for the tour and the workshop, the meal is part of the experience.
"We brought a large group (15 kids, 10 adults) out of Sayulita for an evening at the distillery, and every single person had a great time. That alone says a lot."
Megan P.
"This would be a really fun experience for family with younger kids too, swings, climbing structures, see saws - a lot of thought clearly went into making this a fun experience for all."

Frequently Asked Questions about visiting with kids
Is Cachasol suitable for young children?
Yes. Families are welcome at every experience and in the restaurant, at every hour we're open. There is a natural wooden playground, an open lawn, shaded hammocks, coloring sheets and pencils on arrival, and a menu we adapt for kids with quesadillas, guacamole, aguas frescas and a kids' lemonade.
Do children have to join the tasting?
No. We offer youth tickets for the Tequila Tasting & Raicilla Distillery Tour, which include the full meal but not spirits-based cocktails, and for the Culinary & Mixology Workshop, which include the full mixology and culinary experience with mocktails. The youngest children can play within eyesight while the adults taste. For the tour, the tasting and the workshop, kids 6 to 17 need a youth ticket; kids 5 and under are free.
Which experience is best for kids?
For children 5 and under, dinner at the restaurant with the playground in view. For ages 6 to 12, the Culinary & Mixology Workshop, where kids shake their own mocktails and cook alongside their parents. For teenagers, the workshop is great because it breaks them out of their shell, and the distillery tour youth ticket lets them tag along for the whole experience and story with their parents, without the spirits.
Do we need to book ahead with kids?
Yes. Reservations are required for the restaurant because seating is limited. For the tour, the tasting and the workshop, reserve online to lock in your time and pay on-site at the end of your experience. Tell us the ages when you book so we can seat you near the playground.
Can non-drinkers join without drinking?
Yes. Anyone who'd rather skip the tequila joins any experience at the non-drinking rate and gets everything else: the walk, the kitchen, the meal and mocktails.
Is there parking, and how far is it?
There is parking on-site. Cachasol is at Km 5 on the Carretera Punta Mita, 8 minutes from Sayulita and 18 minutes from Punta Mita; directions and taxi tips are on our Getting Here page.
One Afternoon. Everybody Happy.
Break up those beach and pool days with a culturally relevant, unique experience. The beach will still be there tomorrow. Give the kids a lawn to run on, a drink they made themselves and a table where nobody tells them to be quiet. And give yourself a delicious margarita made with tequila from the farm you're standing on, with nothing added.
